LENTEN RETREAT
UNFETTERED
A Lenten Pilgrimage with Mary
Let it Go. Let it Be. Let it Grow.
Are you carrying unforgiveness? Does resentment weigh you
down? This transformative three-day retreat will guide you
through the journey of forgiveness—from bondage to freedom,
from wound to wisdom, from recipient of mercy to minister of
mercy.
A Journey Toward Freedom
Forgiveness is not a single act—it is a journey with different movements. Some wounds can be released
through deliberate choice and grace. Others require patient acceptance until healing comes. And all
forgiveness, even partial, bears fruit that transforms us and the world around us.
Unfettered is a contemplative retreat rooted in Scripture, the wisdom of Pope Benedict XVI and C.S. Lewis,
Carmelite spirituality, and psychological insight. Whether you’re carrying old family wounds, recent
betrayals, or the accumulated weight of everyday grievances, this retreat offers a path forward.
This is not a retreat about forgiveness—it is a retreat through forgiveness. You will leave not merely
informed, but genuinely freer.
“Forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who
trespass against us.”
The Three Movements
Each day of the retreat focuses on one movement of the forgiveness
journey

“To be a Christian means to forgive the
inexcusable, because God has forgiven the
inexcusable in you.”
— C.S. Lewis

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior retreat experience?
No. This retreat is designed for both those new to contemplative practice and those with experience. We provide guidance throughout.
Is this retreat only for Catholics?
No. While rooted in Catholic and Carmelite spirituality, the retreat welcomes Christians of all traditions. The teaching draws on Scripture and wisdom accessible to all.
What if I can’t forgive?
That’s exactly what Day 2 (“Let it Be”) addresses. We acknowledge that some wounds take time. There’s no pressure to achieve instant forgiveness—only honesty and grace.
Is this retreat suitable for trauma survivors?
This retreat addresses “ordinary” unforgiveness—disappointments, betrayals, accumulated grievances. If you’re carrying severe trauma, we recommend working with a therapist alongside the retreat.
What’s the difference between residential and online?
The residential retreat offers full immersion with silence, community meals, and the retreat house environment. The online retreat offers flexibility—watch teachings at your pace, then join live gatherings for ritual and community.
What if I miss an online session?
Live sessions are recorded and made available within 24 hours. However, we encourage attending live for the full experience of community and ritual.
Is Confession/Reconciliation available?
For the residential retreat, yes—a priest will be available on Saturday evening. For online participants, we encourage seeking the sacrament at your local parish.
Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?
Residential: Full refund minus £50 deposit if cancelled 14+ days before. Online: Full refund if cancelled 7+ days before. Contact us for hardship situations.
