So Jesus said (to them), “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will realize that I AM, and that I do nothing on my own, but I say only what the Father taught me. The one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, because I always do what is pleasing to him.” Because he spoke this way, many came to believe in him. Jesus then said to those Jews who believed in him, If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:28-32

Welcome!
Welcome to the Spiritual Direction Formation Programme (SDFP) Alumni Community. Whether you are a former student, graduate, faculty, staff, or other contributor to the Centre for Applied Carmelite Spirituality SDFP, we invite you to make connections and grow with us.
The mission of the SDFP Alumni Community is to come together in Koinonia. We acknowledge that Christ did not wish to save us individually but decided to form us into his people. Koinonia contains kerygma, letiurgia, and diakonia – to proclaim the faith, to participate in worship, and to live this out in service. Our service is as spiritual directors in the spirit of Carmel. The SDFP Alumni Community will continue to support the nurturing and formation of spiritual directors and allow opportunities for community prayer, worship, and fellowship.
Aims:
● To nurture and sustain spiritual friendships between SDFP alumni.
● To identify ongoing formation and training needs.
● To contribute to the work and development of the Centre for Carmelite Applied Spirituality.
● To share Alumni work in the ministry of Spiritual Direction within the Carmelite tradition.
● To mentor present SDFP students. “All must be friends, all must be loved, all must be held dear, all must be helped” (Teresa of Avila: Way of Perfection 4.7)
Establishing communication forums online to sustain friendships, share gifts, news, and resources.
Network to arrange or arranging these within our own Alumni community.
